The Tyger 03:36
Tyger Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies. Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand, dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, & what art, Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? & what dread feet? What the hammer? what the chain, In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp, Dare its deadly terrors clasp! When the stars threw down their spears And water'd heaven with their tears: Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee? Tyger Tyger burning bright, In the forests of the night: What immortal hand or eye, Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o’er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express, How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o’er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! ~Lord Byron

about

Each piece on this sophomore album by Whimsically Macabre invites you into a fantastical and offbeat world where strange dissonances and oddly familiar melodies combine. The album begins with a piece inspired by the poem by William Blake, played both inside the piano and on the keys. The next piece subtly subverts the meaning of the poem by Lord Byron, "She Walks in Beauty." "Awkward Waltz" is a tender, contemplative anthem for introverts. The album concludes with a piece that is rebelliously understated and questioning of a world that is dominated by forceful statements. "Under Where?" is Whimsically Macabre's response to the song "Over There."
